PERMANENT ROLE – MONDAY TO FRIDAY – OTE: £41,000.00 PER ANNUM
Wincanton are recruiting for Class 1 Drivers to join our Tarmac contract with our team at Aberthaw-Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. Collecting and delivering construction, building materials or bricks and blocks. Ensuring that deliveries are on time and that health and safety procedures are followed while offloading the products.
- Permanent contract
- £29,993.60 per annum - basic salary
- OTE: £41,000.00 - based on 2 nights out plus 10 hours overtime
- 40 hours per week
- 06:00 - Start time
- Monday to Friday - Shift Pattern
Duties include:
- Ensuring all documentation is completed accurately with attention to detail.
- Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
- Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements (opt out available).
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others, completion of dynamic risk assessments, adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety at Work Act, including accident, incident, and damage reporting.
- To ensure contractual KPI’s over delivery of product is undertaken in both a legally compliant and health and safety manner.
- Attending any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous improvement.
- Keep the vehicle you use clean, tidy, and well cared for, so it is ready to be used the next day.
What will you bring?
- Must have valid in date Class 1 licence
- Must have valid in date CPC
- Must hold Digital tachograph card
- Must not have more than 6 points on licence
- Must have minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience
- Cement and Powder experience would be advantageous
- Possess excellent customer facing awareness skills
- Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
- Must be fully flexible on working hours
- Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering first class customer service
- Must have good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
- Must have a good geographical knowledge
