We are recruiting for a Group Team Leader to join our hygiene team in Market Drayton.

To effectively manage and develop hygiene teams. To be pro-active in achieving the highest standards of hygiene throughout the
factory, to ensure that all hygiene standards are compliant with customer codes of practice, and to identify and deliver solutions
for continuous business improvement that ensure Food Safety, Legality & Quality remains paramount to the success of the business.

Location and shifts: Market Drayton, 6pm - 6am, 4 nights on 4 nights off

Salary: £33,500 per annum



Key Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Safety, Health & Environment

* To ensure hygiene staff are appropriately trained, organised and managed to complete required workload.
* To manage issues with management to minimise risk to product through effective hygiene management and process control.
* Driving and improving departmental Key Performance Indicators.
* Work with the Hygiene Manager to ensure the companies and department targets are met
* To manage and control deep and standard cleaning of machinery / environment to a scheduled programme and to the required
standard
* To carry out regular audits of the hygiene systems and site environmental standards. To carry out ad-hoc project work with
Hygiene Manager, i.e. new equipment, cleaning materials and processes.
* To drive forward departmental policies and procedures and update the QMS within the scope of the hygiene function
* To actively promote a safety culture within the factory ensuring all health and safety requirements are met.
* Be proactive in supporting the Hygiene Manager in controlling of departmental budget.
* Conducting return to work interviews with Hygiene Operators and completing necessary paperwork with company procedures and
timeframes.
* Managing their team’s performance and conducting individual and team performance reviews
* Communicating with other shifts and departments to ensure the smooth running of Hygiene (e.g. shift handovers)



Key Performance Indicators:

* Cleaning schedules completed as planned
* Correct manning levels
* All staff trained to the required standards to achieve the plan
* Programme of non-conformances re-scheduled.
* Corrective action lists to be prioritised and actioned within a targeted timeframe
* Handover to production
* Number of departmental issues / grievances / disciplinaries
* Appropriate communication with the sites team, including engineers and QA staff for continued food safety controls (HACCP) and
standards.
* Development of scheduled cleaning programme to address all equipment & environmental cleans required
* Continual review of cleaning routines and schedules to maintain and improve best hygiene practices.
* Swab results to be to specification
* Downtime attributable to hygiene function
* Monitor non-conformances and trends over time to drive improvements
* Corrective actions completed within identified timescale.
* Effective communication of non-conformances to all relevant staff
* Improved efficiency and standards of cleaning
* Strategic improvements within the department / business
* Ensuring effective auditing.
* Timely implementation of corrective actions raised as a result of effective auditing.
* Shift health and safety plan timescales.
* Shift accident statistics and trends.
* Effective investigations
* Ensure level of stocks of hygiene consumables enable effective hygiene operation
* Ensure control of hygiene consumable to meet budgetary requirements
* Completion and sign off actions raised during visits



Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* HACCP trained to relevant Qualification.
* Food Hygiene and Safety in Manufacturing Level 3
* Leadership Qualification to NVQ level 3 or equivalent
* Knowledge of Lean Tools & Techniques
* Proficient in Word, Excel and hygiene scheduling systems
