About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Technology Agent to join our Highways team to work on the NEAR South schemes.

We provide high quality asset strategy, management, and planning consultancy services to a wide range of public and private sector customers.
We provide specialist, reliable, sustainable, and creative advice for asset management planning and implementation in the UK.

What you’ll be doing
As a Technology Agent, you will be responsible for managing the Technology, Communication, Signs & Street Lighting packages from design and construction through to commissioning and handover. Ensuring the safe and sustainable delivery of works completed on time, within budget and meeting the required quality standards.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Motivate team and manage performance; monitor the competency of team
members and produce development plans to ensure training/coaching is undertaken as appropriate.
- Undertake resource planning for the works packages, using the programme plan to inform the number and type of resources needed to deliver the works efficiently and effectively.
- Responsible for liaising with project stakeholders to ensure the scheme is delivered within commitments and a creating a culture of customer first.
- Take responsibility for the financial planning and control of budgets for your works packages and track performance weekly and monthly, explaining any variances and acting as necessary to mitigate any financial impacts.
- Responsible for managing the interfaces between the scheme, NRTS and National Highways to ensure the technology and communications assets are managed in line with the standards
- Manages risk for area of responsibility to ensure mitigation is in place and opportunity is sought to meet project requirements
Who we’re looking for
You will have the following:
- Qualified to degree level in technical discipline (e.g. Engineering, Project
Management) or experience equivalent to this
- Experience in a strong project management environment and a detailed understanding of project management best practices
- Experience of leading technology packages essential, within a Highways environment preferred
- Working knowledge of the NEC and other relevant forms of contract
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights as required by the programme;
- Holds a current driving license, SMSTS and relevant CSCS/ ECS Card
