Description We have an employment opportunity for a motivated, committed person to join Defence Business Services (DBS). The role is part of the Development & Change (Dev Chg), Management Information (MI) Team providing specialist analytical services for the Armed Forces & Veterans Services (AFVS) organisation. The primary task is to support the AFVS Analytics products and services. You will interpret diverse datasets and produce information to enable Ministry of Defence (MOD) stakeholders to make robust data-driven decisions to meet operational and strategic priorities. You will function as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Military Information reporting platform, including for the exploitation of future functionality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from multiple sources, including the Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) system and the Oracle Analytics Server Information System (OASIS), whilst ensuring data integrity. You will work collaboratively with our delivery partner on modern technologies and the MI transformation programme.

You should enjoy working as part of a team, be proficient working with Information Technology (IT) and confident with dataset analytics. You should have excellent organisational and people skills and be an effective communicator. Key responsibilities include:

Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to provide SME advice relating to exploitation of MI tooling.
Responding to problems on Military MI platform by initiating actions, identifying trends, and resolving technical queries.
Applying experience to identify best practice solutions and produce best practice guidance for the Military MI community.
Applying basic techniques to analyse diverse datasets and present clear understandable findings by developing data visualisation, dashboards, and reports.
Managing self-service reporting capability and access permissions on OASIS to assure data management.
Undertaking witness testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure system changes meet DBS requirements.
Supporting meetings within a multidisciplinary audience, present, communicate and disseminate data appropriately and be an advocate for the team.
Hosting Technical Working Groups demonstrating the most appropriate medium to visualise data, telling compelling stories that are relevant to business goals.
Supporting MI Teams objectives to deliver analytical services by identifying appropriate ways to collect, collate, cleanse, and prepare data.
