Salary: £38,625.73 per annum
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

The difference you will make as Building Safety Inspector – Fire Doors

In this role you will carry out Building Safety (Fire Door) inspections to identify and respond to defects, prioritising and ensuring actions are undertaken in a timely manner by removing hazards and ensuring any installed equipment is operational to ensure people are safe and the building is working effectively. To defend any liability claims relating to the communal areas and to provide a due diligent defence against a claim for breach of a statutory or regulatory requirement or defend an allegation for serious detriment.

Ideally in this role you undertake functional / operational safety checks to ensure installed equipment is in full working order to ensure compliance with risk and health and safety protocols i.e. fire alarm, emergency lighting, also you record outcomes of inspections and functional/operational checks, assess any hazards and determine the appropriate action and timescale to mitigate any risks

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience undertaking Building Safety / Property management inspections or building safety resident engagement
  • Basic knowledge of Fire Safety within Social Housing, including government and industry guidance, British standards, building regulations and the requirements of Fire Safety Order 2005 (RRO), Fire Safety Act 2022 and Building Safety Act 2022 in relation to inspection of fire doors.
  • Proven track record of monitoring risk and health and safety compliance and carrying out inspections within a housing environment.
  • Knowledge of asbestos, legionella, building regulations, fire regulations, health and safety regulations and carrying out risk assessments within a housing environment.
  • Effective stakeholder management, both internally and external to the organisation.
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems including MS Office.
